Job Description

Manages and services large scale ‘in-country’ data center infrastructure and facilities to ensure 24×7 operations in rotating shifts. Proactive coordination and escalation related to site operational issues and client’s requirements ensuring great customer experience at all times while also taking guidance and complying to STT GDC GDCO policies and standards.

STT GDC Philippines is a joint venture between Globe, Ayala and STT GDC.

Responsibilities

  • Support and ensure smooth 24×7 running of the operations in the ‘in-country’ data center.

  • Acts as Level 1 escalation point by overseeing and resolving all onsite operational incidents and major issues,  respond & perform remote requests within SLA.

  • Understands the M&E, security, network and plumbing systems of the building, critical facilities equipment and other equipment associated with the DC environment.

  • Documents and updates accurately all requests on the internal web portal ticketing system such as user requests, incidents, provisioning, etc.

  • Implements best in class DC operations based on ITIL and industry practices.

  • Delivers ITIL compliance process conformance for incident, problem and change management.

  • Ensures effective implementations of safety, security and customer support policy and procedures.

  • Coordinates and provides support to contractors and vendors as well as inspecting completed work.

  • Plans and supports all preventive and reactive maintenance activities with little to no disruption to company’s services.

  • Participates and supports internal and external audits for internal stakeholders and customers.

  • Generates accurate and regular reports when required.

  • Any other duties or project as assigned by the management.

Academic Qualifications

  • Certificate or Diploma in IT/Computing/Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or related field

Professional Qualifications & Training

  • Technical Training Certifications , Network Certifications or equivalent

Professional Background

  • At least 1 year of relevant work experience in 24×7 DC or facility operations environment, or fresh graduate with relevant qualifications such as building services, mechanical engineering

  • Possess general knowledge of M&E and Network Critical Infrastructure

  • Good knowledge in M&E and building facilities related systems, such as CRACs, Chiller, PDUs, UPS, Switchgears Ops, DX cooling, Network

  • structure cabling, Security, etc.

  • Meticulous team player with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Language Proficiencies

  • English – spoken and written

Other Preferred Skill Sets

  • Possess relevant facilities management and/or data center related certifications, such as ITIL, PMP, Uptime Institute and TIA-942

  • Familiar with certifications standards, such as ISO 20000 / 22301 / 27001, 45001, 9001, Uptime Institute, TIA-942

  • Good contractor management and collaboration skills to works with cross functional teams

  • Prepared to be on 24×7 standby recall to provide extra manpower coverage when necessary
