Client Overview:
The client is focused on advancing green energy solutions and infrastructure development in Ethiopia, with an emphasis on electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and data centre development. The initiative aims to address emerging energy needs, enhance sustainability, and bolster Ethiopia’s green economy through a collaborative approach involving local and international expertise.
Project Overview:
This is an early-stage initiative requiring a comprehensive scan and mobilization of in-country expertise in Ethiopia. The objective is to assemble a multidisciplinary team capable of supporting the client’s goals, covering areas such as energy systems, green investments, project management, and strategic consulting. The team will operate under the GCIP consortium and provide full-time support through March 2025, with a strong potential for project extension.
Role and Responsibilities
They’re seeking professionals across various domains, including:
- Energy Experts: Specialists in renewable energy systems, EV infrastructure, and sustainable energy solutions.
- Investment Professionals: Experts in green finance, infrastructure funding, and project viability assessments.
- Project Management Professionals: Experienced managers to oversee and coordinate project milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
- Consulting Professionals: Strategists with experience advising on infrastructure development and energy interventions.
Deliverables:
- Conduct an expertise scan to identify and mobilize in-Ethiopia talent for EV charging and data centre projects.
- Assemble and manage a team delivering ~200–300 person-days of work per month.
- Provide strategic insights and project execution support, ensuring alignment with client objectives.
- Support ongoing project activities, with flexibility to extend team engagement beyond March 2025.
Requirements
Experience Required:
- Proven expertise in energy infrastructure, green investments, or project management.
- Prior consulting experience in infrastructure or energy projects.
- Understanding of Ethiopia’s energy landscape, including policy and regulatory frameworks.
- Ideally, professionals already based in Ethiopia, with preference for Ethiopian nationals.
Technical Skills:
- Strong analytical, planning, and execution skills in complex energy projects.
- Familiarity with EV infrastructure and/or data centre development.
- Proficiency in stakeholder engagement and consortium-based project execution.
Soft Skills:
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities to coordinate diverse stakeholders.
- Adaptability to dynamic project requirements and timelines.
Working Arrangement
Location: Ethiopia (preferably professionals already based in the country).
Operational Requirements:
- Availability for full-time engagement between now and the end of March 2025, with the potential for extension.
- Collaboration within the GCIP consortium to meet deliverable requirements.
